How long does a report take to complete?

GI Effects and Organic Acids Test (OAT) reports are typically completed within 3–5 working days (excluding weekends and bank holidays). Because every report includes personalised recommendations tailored to your child's unique results, we prioritise quality and accuracy over speed. If taking an extra day means providing more thoughtful and comprehensive guidance, we believe it's worth the wait.

Will I receive a written report?

All reports are provided in the form of a PDF and emailed directly to you

Which tests do you offer?
We currently offer a range of functional and biomedical tests, including Organic Acids Tests (OAT), GI Stool Testing, Food Sensitivity Testing, Nutritional Testing, and other specialist investigations designed to provide deeper insight into your child's health.

Which test should I choose?

Do I need to order a test through Autism Health Journey?
No. We can interpret tests regardless of where they were purchased. However, ordering through us ensures you receive the correct test and any available support throughout the process.

What's included when I purchase a test?
Each test includes the laboratory kit, instructions for sample collection, and a prepaid return label.

How long does testing take?
This depends on the laboratory and test selected. Most results are available within 2–6 weeks of the laboratory receiving your sample. We will keep you updated at every stage of the process.

Do you ship internationally?
Some tests can be shipped internationally, while others are restricted by laboratory regulations. Please contact us before ordering if you are located outside the UK.

Can you help me understand my results?
Absolutely. We currently offer GI and OAT interpretations. For all other tests, you will receive a report from the laboratory explaining your results. If you require a full evaluation of all tests, symptoms, history, from Us, then please look into our Autism Biomedical Starter Plan service.

Are these tests diagnostic?
Most functional health tests are designed to provide additional health information and identify potential imbalances. They should not be considered a substitute for medical diagnosis or treatment.

Can I order more than one test at the same time?

Can you recommend a test based on my child's symptoms?

Do you provide supplement recommendations?
Yes. Where appropriate, we can provide personalised supplement recommendations based on testing results, current protocols, symptoms, and individual circumstances.

Can you review my child's current supplement protocol?
Absolutely. We can review your child's existing supplements, identify potential gaps, overlaps, unnecessary products, and suggest areas that may warrant further investigation.

Can you help prioritise which interventions to try first?
Yes. One of the biggest challenges for parents is knowing where to start. We can help you identify the most logical priorities based on your child's symptoms, history, testing, and current protocol, helping you avoid unnecessary expense and overwhelm.

Do you provide dietary guidance?
Yes. We can provide general dietary guidance and discuss common nutritional approaches that may support your child's health goals. Any dietary recommendations are tailored to the individual and should always be considered alongside professional medical advice where appropriate.

Will you recommend lots of supplements?
Not necessarily. Our goal is not to recommend the largest number of supplements possible, but to help families focus on the interventions most relevant to their child's individual needs.

Can biomedical support be used alongside speech therapy, occupational therapy or ABA?
Yes. Many families choose to use biomedical approaches alongside educational, behavioural, speech, occupational, and other therapeutic interventions as part of a comprehensive support plan.

Do I need testing before receiving biomedical recommendations?
Ideally yes (we highly recommend it), but not always. While testing can provide valuable insights, recommendations can often be made based on symptoms, medical history, current interventions, and family goals. Testing may then be recommended where additional information is needed.

Can you guarantee results?
No. Every child is unique and responds differently to interventions. Our aim is to provide evidence-informed guidance and practical recommendations tailored to your child's individual circumstances.
